Hi all,

I am in Shenzhen, China on biz right now. Can anyone tell me where there is a good market that sells audio parts, boards, chassis etc? 😕 There has to be one here somewhere. I found an amazing multi story bazaar that sells computer parts. I'd like to find the audio equivalent. Please let me know if you know of one.

Thanks!

Hi, there is a online market similar to e-bay.

Check it out here:

You may have to ask someone to find and order stuffs for you (if you don't read/speak chinese). You will find the chassis pretty cheap. They come in boards and screws and therefore not bulky.

Hope this helps.

Hi ym,
Thanks for that. I do know how to get to huaqiang (spelling) but there are many stores there. I could look all day and not find audio parts without knowing which site to go to. That's the kind of help I'm looking for. Does anyone have a name or address for the right store? Most are computer and cell stores.
Thanks

Thanks so much.

Sorry, can't help you with specific shops in SZ. However, if you don't mind travelling by train to GZ, 1 hour or so, here is where you want to go...
新陶街电子电器城
421 Jiefang Middle Rd
Yuexiu, Guangzhou, Guangdong
China

2nd and 3rd floor.

Actually if I remember right, there used to be a show that sells pcb, kits, components on the ground floor as well, on the right side of the building, when you are on the street facing the building.

It is a very convenient location because you get on a train to GZ, then take the subway and get off at Gongyuanqian station. From the station, it is just a very short walk.

There is an audio market in the Gomz building on Huaqiangbei, starting on the 3rd floor. It's on the east side of the street towards the north end of the electronics district. The prices tend to be higher than the US, and I'm skeptical of the quality/authenticity. I haven't bought much besides a little dot headphone amp, which has worked well and was less than half what it would cost in the US. I usually go there on my day off whenever I'm there just to check things out. The hours are about 10am to 5 or 6pm, and on Sundays many of the shops are closed.

I also found a few audio places in the nearby camera market, and also in the Huaqiangbei subway(metro) station. There is a little market underground with a few shops selling components and PCBs if you head east from the subway towards the electronics district.

There is a mix of both parts and finished products at the Gomz shopping center. The components are mostly tube audio and speaker related. If you go into SEG market you can find other components like chassis, switches, counterfeit capacitors, transistors, etc. I've actually bought some really nice quality anodized aluminum knobs there.

I went to Huaxiangbei today. I never did find the fabled audio parts market. But I did find good connectors (RCA, binding posts and banana) in the Gomz building and some IEC connectors and large extruded cases in the SEG building. I was disappointed that my guide forgot that the audio parts place was in a different part of town and we had no time to go there. Maybe next time. Maybe next year.
