I have a dual woofer system that I am modifying. I want to set the cross-over point of the lower woofer to 400Hz to compensate for the baffle step, however, I don't want an overall 6db boost, as given my room and likely speaker positioning, this will be way too much. I would like about 3db. Of course a simple resistive attenuator could do this, but then there goes my damping factor of my amp out the window. I may bi-amp in the long run, but not soon.
Am I missing an easy way of attenuating without resistors (or a custom transformer).
