AT transformer wire gauge?

Hi!

What type of wire, and wire gauge, would you guys recommend

for an AF input transformer with an 1:1 ratio, 600 ohms (W.E 111C)

wire lengh will be 40 cm.

A Western Electric 111C is a very large transformer, it weighs 4.5 pounds! They were used by telephone companies to provide broadcast quality audio in old 600 Ohm circuits. They might use more than 40 meters of wire. I had two transformers, but they got lost.
