ASUS ADP-65DW C PROBLEM

Hi. My notebook adapter is working but once my wife put it in the wall socket ,it caused spark and it turned off the main fuse at home. Last night i put it to another wall 3 way socket and it caused big spark and it turned off the main fuse in apartments electric room which was closed and its keys were at site administrators office.I could get the key and turned on the fuse. Why it happens? Does my adapter have issues? Because the adapter is very expensive here (about 40usd ) Is it good idea to connect serial inrush current limiter ( like SCK10103LIY501 10R 10mm 3A or SCK205R0MSBY 5R 20mm 7,5A. I do not know how many amperes is enough, i think 3A may be enough but not sure ) Thanks

although you think it is expensive to replace, it is made very cheaply. Replacement parts will only show you the next weak part of the circuit and cause you more problems. As long as the adapter end is correct for your laptop, anything 19-20V output with at least 3.5A will do just fine. If you want the replacement to last longer, buy one capable of 5A+ so the parts are more robust for the actual 3.5A demand.

In Turkey USD is almost fixed but all import items from worldwide increasing. Same item, same currency but prices increased about 50% in last three months! They banned to buy something which is over 150 Euros from worldwide. Can not buy even pay the tax.Should pay more than 100% extra import fees!
I started to hate here.

Amazon in the UK are listing compatibles for £16-25 I'd consider one of those before trying to repair the one you have. It appears you can buy them for a fraction of the price of an official model.

Can't speak for that particular model of charger but I've purchased compatible chargers for other laptops in the past and had no problems.

I had the same problem with a computer screen that uses one of those power bricks.
After three of the things I ended up using a short wave radio power unit with a transmit power of 8 amps. It has been working for years. It isn't even regulated.
If original power bricks fail they will almost always fail again so rapidly that the fakes will last longer but not much longer.
