Hello everyone,
I have an ASK 16.7 projection panel up for sale if anyone is interested.
As far as I know it has:
640x480 rez
VGA or MAC input only
16.7 million colors
This is all I know about the panel.
It doesn't come with a power supply or VGA cable. The power input is a pretty standard power jack. I used a universal power supply with it and it worked. What's neat is that it has a sensor on it so when the overhead lamp comes on then the fan on the panel powers up.
I could only get the unit to power on, I tried my Sharp
QA-2500 VGA cable with it and it didn't work so I have no idea if it works or not. It might only be that the cable doesn't have the proper pinouts but I don't know, all it did was flicker alot. If anyone is interested in buying it to play with let me know. I know it won some award for 2nd best panel of the year in the mid 90s who said that the colors were exceptional but that's all I could find on the web. Anyone is free to make an offer though I have never seen it work so keep that in mind. E-mail me,
akirawing at hotmail dot com if you are interested.

Many of these older panels only support 60hz input. It's often not enough just to select 640x480 as your resolution, you have to specifically select a 60hz refresh rate as well or it won't work.
If you haven't sold it and haven't tried this yet, you might want to. 🙂

Yes I have tried the 60h refresh rate. I just don't want to take the time to figure out the proper pinouts or try an get it to work as I already have both a Sharp QA-1750 and a QA-2500 that work perfectly. I would just like to sell it. It's a very nice little unit though, and very light. The unit is cosmetically pretty nice too. I must admit I really only bought it because I was interested in ASK panels and was curious because they seem to be rare on ebay.
