I was just wondering if anyone had fitted a larger bulb to one of these, maybe a 400w 36v bulb or a metal halide. i have tryed a metal halide but the light was fuzzy and dark without a proper reflector. Does anyone have any ideas. As it is the last part of my projector to finish. the pic a the mo is a bit washed out.

YWH is working with Alan at DIYlabs.org. If everything works out he can provide ~70mm spherical reflectors and ~70-90mm condensor lenses. AFAIK, both are made of optic glass, should be high quality. you may ask YWH directly to see if he can ship a set to you.
