Finally. 🙂
BTW, current asking price for 2SJ74 is 4€ a piece.
So just P-JFETs alone would be 2000€ ?
(That is of you can get them at that quantity at all......)

I read about power amplifiers that go for $100,000. What would you pay for
such an exotic beast?
Besides, Patrick, I have a photo of you holding one of the boards. You had
your chance to run away with it....
😎
A dream of your youth came true creating the "beast", what a long line in your life and how happy the different turnings of the story.....
a great movie....
thank you! and your wife, turning dreams in a kind of real situation....ending (of course) in communication and the young man, fulfilling the monsters whishes...😀

Hi!
Since I have recently switched to another job, the last month or so had been quite freaky...Net result was the lack of time for forum or any audio activities...So tonight I decided to see what's going on here...
What a nice surprise! As always, thank you Mr. Pass!

So I guess some matching is also required, so that would be even more expensive 🙂Roth tested the Idss of each Jfet and soldered them into the boards
Wow! Nice looking boards!
Who is starting the Builders Thread? hahaaha...
That's why it's so hard to get those JFets in The Netherlands, Mr. Pass bought them all 😀

We graded them a little more finely so as to be sure of getting relatively equal
distributions, but actual matching was not necessary, so the cost is the same.
BTW, Patrick's estimate of the cost of the P fets was one channel only.
At $5 apiece, we have almost $12,000 worth of Jfets. I believe I pointed out
elsewhere that I left the leads on the parts long, just in case I needed them
someday.
😎
So when someday you need them, just taking them out; it will still work, just slightly worse, that is until enough have been taken out.. (I wonder why I am thinking about HAL....) 🙂

I already sorted out my own solution.
No less freaky, I can assure you.
But somewhat less costly .....

Hm...smells like El-cheapo version of the Beast...with some cheap J-fets, a group buy would mean a quantity of 10000-50000 or more pieces. If one could get 2000 jfets for 200 bucks, then it becomes a viable option.... 😎
