ARTA - FR compensation

Hello,

I have bought OmniMic but since it doesn't allow dual-channel measurements I decided to give ARTA a try.

I've read the manual several times but some things are not clear.

I borrowed an 'ART USB DualPre' sound card from a friend and I've decided to measure its response so I got this graph:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I saved the response and I got this file 'placa.txt' attached.

My question is, if I now use this curve as the 'FR compensation' in ARTA setup I get this result:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

...which is fine but as you can see the SPL is now 0 instead of 130dB.

So I tried to change the values on the frd file by adding or subtracting 130 in order to adjust this but whatever I do, I get strange spikes in the final compensated response. 😕

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

First problem solved!

I just had to change the decimal separator from '.' to ',' to manipulate the file on the excel and forgot to change it back before importing it to ARTA.

Now I have a second question. 🙂

=>>> How can I import two compensation curves (one for the sound card and the other for the mic) if I have only the option to import one curve?
Morevoer the two curves have different Frequency values as the sound card was obtained directly on ARTA whereas the OmniMic was from the manufacturer.

The two curves are in attach.

You are obviously a perfectionist since you bother to compensate for a quarter of a dB variations in the fr.

When you do acoustic measurements with a microphone a small fraction of a dB is insignificant so you should only need to load the mic fr compensation.
