What i was wondering is if any one can tell me the standard distance below the platter the arm board should sit. I have a rega rb200, and it came with a black cone shape spacer ( i assume it is standard).

I beleive that an inch is correct. and is it measured from the platter down or the slipmat or from a record on it?

I am remaking the plynth supports now and preperaring to machine the arm board supports out of acryllic and need to have a height.

Any help would be appreaciated.

My site os some old pics before i lost the plans and stopped working on it for a year.

More info

Hello again,
I have gone as far as to call Rega, and i belive that their reply applies to all tone arms.
They said i should set it up so that the tone arm is parallel to the platter while playing the record.

One last comment,
From what i understand this may be standard knowledge to experienced analoque DIY'ers. From what i understand these forums are to help people who are experienced working on projects, and beginners working on their first table.

I am working on my first table, and i am pretty green, I am trying my best to make the table right the first time.

Thank you

Since I machined a custom aluminum hub and acrylic platter for my Rega P3, I measured the stock setup prior to the mods. I arrived at 1.06" from the top of the plinth to the top of the felt mat placed on top of the platter. That's a good starting point.

BTW, Rega arms are tapered so keeping the arm parallel isn't necessarily true. The headshell being parallel is what to aim for as a starting point for VTA. Good luck!😉
