Are there any parts worth keeping from scrap amps?

So my brother-in-law bought a storage locker that was full of someone's stuff when they didn't pay their locker rental fee. He brought me a few boxes of amplifiers of various names such as DHD, Power Acoustic, Volfenhag, Crunch, Db Drive, etc. all bottom shelf stuff, nothing from the top shelf. I was wondering before i trash these things after taking the fet clamps out, are there any parts that I should think about keeping, removing from the board and testing for future use? I'm still learning the ropes so I'm open to any suggestions so bring it on. Thanks guys!

Power transformers, heatsinks, any silicon you like the look of (transistors, regulators, rectifiers etc).

Also consider things like switches, pcb standoffs, wires, bolts.

Capacitors and resistors could be good too if they are name brand and in good condition.

One can do a lot of economizing in amp builds with salvaged components. Especially with the expensive metal bits like chassis, heatsink and transformers which normally takes up a lot of the cost of a bulld.

I save them all. I would be interested in them if you plan to throw them away. I’m in middle tn and may be able to make a little road trip to pick them up. Every board or heatsink I’ve scrapped, I ended up regretting later.

I’ve got a boss zed board that I scrapped the heatsink on around 20 years ago. Recently I fixed the board for fun and if I had the heatsink, there is a zed fanboy out here that would love to have it I’m sure.

if it's just the same I'll take the boards out of the heat sinks and place them in storage and pick parts when i need them and trash the heat sinks. Many of the boards such as the Power Acoustic look new. Before i opened it i heard something loose inside, opened it up and found a rectifier that broke from a stress fracture, most likely dropped

Look for transistors like 2SA970 that are good for lots of projects. They will say SA970 on them. There are a wealth of useful transistors that are now harder to find in old car amps. Stuff like resistors are usually cheap junk not worth the effort to remove. Film caps are ok but the electrolytics are usually dried up junk. Heat sinks and the mounting hardware can be nice too.

Some of the PA amps (and others) use the KTA1023 and KTC1027 transistors in the power supply as drivers that are used in class D circuits and are hard to find. Many other drivers are good for the power supply but, sometimes, it's difficult to find anything else to replace the 1023/1027 in the class D circuit.
