I have an Arcam CD17 that I thought had a bad laser. I replaced it easy enough, but the same "NO DISC" error occurs. Upon closer inspection, I see the mechanism won't lift into place and slotted spindle that turns and lifts the peg, moving the laser up into position (I don't know what it's called), seems not to turn when the tray closes.
Does anyone know what it's called? Has anyone replaced this part? Any insight would be great.
