Hi, I have a Arcam Alpha 5 Plus CD Player that is no longer picking up the CD. There seems to be a lot of noise coming from the pickup spindle and it appears to be just wobbly around randomly. I've had the lid off and cannot see anything broken, does anyone has any ideas?

Failed (dried out) electrolytic caps were always favourite on the Philips RAFOC based players. I've never worked on the Arcam so can't say what the servo board under the pickup is like but checking (replacement) of the caps would high on the list.
