I am thinking of using a Grace Design m902 with my Aleph 2. Are there output impedance requirements etc. for preamps that the Aleph 2 demands?
The m902 is more of a headphone amp but can be used as a preamp. It has an output impedance of 1 ohm and Maximum Output Level @1kHz, 50 Ohm load of +21.4dBu (9.11Vrms). Would this work ok?
Any advice or comments would be very much appreciated.
Cheers

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you considered a Pass preamp, such as the Aleph P or B1?

Hi Scott,
I actually have an X2 right now (which is great!) but am considering the m902 for it's DAC and headphone amp abilities. And yo be honest, the sale of the X2 is needed for the switch.

The Aleph 2 is pretty happy with any ordinary source
impedance. If you drive the input with 1 megohm source,
the circuit still thinks there's 4.7 Kohm there, so I don't think
there's much to worry about.
