Application of equilizer on small monitor speakers?

Hello I have a pair of realistic minimus-7. These are well made but the sound is not good, crappy compared to a pait of modern audio nirvana.
I have noticed by applying equilizer (PC-vlc) I can make tha sound to be very close to my taste, although I know that this is not neutral. But anyway the result pleases my ears.
I was wondering if anyone has experience in "convertins" other small monitors to super sounding (low volume) speakers by applying EQ.

Every professional sound system includes equalizers. Their very purpose is to even out the sound response from the speakers, and that includes the contribution from the listening environment. Move speakers room to room, or concert hall to concert hall, and they won;t sound the same. That is what equalizers are for.

Actually, too many "professionals" start there as well.

They bring in blown amps and blown speakers, and the high and low end of their graphics are set to +12, and they wonder why. I hope the audience appreciated the benefit of 16kHz at +12.

Hi,

You can always trade off max volume for more
bass extension with sealed box speakers. For
PC nearfield its a good idea, but what out for
poor bass distortion, some drivers work far
better in bass boost mode than others.

e.g. Zaph|Audio
Compare the bass distortion of the FR88EX to the B3S/NS3.
