I picked these up a while back in an auction with a pair of tweeters, and I have no idea what they are. They look a bit like Vifa frames, except that most of them aren't round. But absolutely no markings on them whatsoever. I'm a little loath to remove the pads on the frame and magnet unless I'm actually going to use them.
Any help on identification would be appreciated!

What is the marking on the rubber surround? I can't quite make it out, rh6004?? Certainly looks like the type of surround on my vifa 10" drivers and the cones look like vifa treated paper. its probably just the part number for the surround, but a google search might turn something up.

I never saw that, Tony. I've looked but always thought they didn't have any id on them at all. I'll go out and have another look. Sheesh - I have to post in the forum to get something I should have seen in the garage!

If it makes you feel better I just looked at my vifa 10" drivers and couldn't see it either, had to run my finger around the outer edge of the surround to find it. Did a google search on mine but nothing useful in the first few pages of hits, hopefully yours has a better chance!

Tell us a bit more about them......are they from a system? Nominal size? I can't work out if the frames are cast or pressed metal. Did you buy them from Radio Parts about 35yrs ago?!! As the cones remind me of a similar set I picked up there "on special" in the 70's. But they were only 4" and not exacatly the same as yours.
That's the big problem, Jonathan (great name, that!). I think they came with a pair of mid-horns I was buying on eBay, and I don't think I even looked at them twice! Fairly wide-range (they match my Plessey C8MX02's for extension - the ones without the whizzer).
Pressed metal, looks like the same type of backing as a pair of 10" Vifa I saw a couple of times. They're probably 6", too big for 5" and too small for 7. No real idea what they came from, except that I can see they were used DIY (due to the padding on just about every surface). Probably bought about 3 years ago on the 'Bay
Yup, rh6004 was the number. And I couldn't find out anything either. Oh well, back to the drawing board...
