NS AW150
I got 2 pairs of these cheap outdoor speakers from work because the schmucks kept crossing the speaker wires and shorting them. 1 speaker works out of the 4. 2 of them have awful spitty sound from the tweeters and one is dead silent.
I have taken them apart and I found a 2.2uf 100v cap on the crossover and what looks like a capacitor wound with wire over it and covered with black plastic tape (maybe an inductor?) Those are the only 2 parts visible on the xover board.
Which one would be causing the spitty sound? I would have to cut the parts out because theyre glued down. Would I be able to easily build a new crossover with Radio Shack parts? I have limited skills but I have modded my TEAC digital amp and built a tube preamp from a kit so I feel like I can tackle this.
