I guess it all depends on what "really cheap" means. If that panel is ~$100 or so I'd probably try it anyway. I've seen decent results from panels with similar specs.

Benqshopper has refurb 16ms panels with 400:1 cr in the $200-250 range. They are out of stock a lot though(they are oos at the time of this post). Thats the lowest that I've seen besides a few exceptions on eBay.

Not the fastest panel but it's a 14" which is good. Apparently this panel strips well and is DIY friendly. This is not a panel for hardcore gamers but for everyday use it seems to be fine.

Sounds slow, but at least its strippable. I found the post on craigslist for it that cheap if anyone cares.

Go for it, frames per second is roughly you horizontal frequency.
At least that what BENQ states.
