Anyone familiar with Bert Doppenbergs Orphean , or it's predecessor with the Oris horn and ref. bass ?? Experience, evaluations ????
I had lived with Oris 150 for several years. It's the oldest big throat version of BD's round horn for 8" fullrangers. It's very good with Lowther PM4 (and my old Focal mid). Not sure about the newer ones for compression driver. Should be good, too.
Hard to get a fully satisfied system, though. I guess the reasons are: it's too big to properly integrated with aux tweeter (if it's not playing all the way to the top); and so powerful that adding a matching bass section is difficult (front horn is the best, no doubt, but the size...).
There're other options, like Azurahorn, which is highly praised, too, and said to have (marginally) better HF than Oris.

Centered at such big horns, the complete system will be in killer grade. Live SPL, shocking dynamics and microscopic details... etc. Be prepared for all the troubles, too.
Have fun and good luck 🙂
