Managed to snag a 17" NEC LCD on ebay. It's model is LCD1700V. Wondering if anybody's had any experience stripping it. (And yes, I know the response on it is aweful, but it is my first LCD, so I'll skewer it up before trying something nicer)
Thanks all
Thanks all
well if it has the same manufacture as my NEC 1530V 15 inch, then it's a philips lcd which has the worst possible ffc cables. not only does the horizontal cable have to be covering the lcd panel to be plugged into board, but so does the vertical board ffc ribbon, which is extremely difficult to unplug and replug much less extend.
i put mine back together and will sell on ebay if i get a good price or i'll keep it for another project. (install in a bar, kitchen island etc. when i get my house) the video to vga transcoders are now 60 bucks so i could make it an lcd tv.
