FWIW, the only Italian tube-manufacturer I know of was Fivre, made tubes with a license from RCA (that's why they are the only company bar RCA that made the famous single-plate 2a3)

That makes sense. it does look classicly American, so the 'Made in Italy' label was confusing for that reason. Probably just a US design assembled in Italy .
