Any recommended tips/reading for the electrical side of Speaker building - wiring drivers, cables, crossover assembly, crimping, binding posts etc?

Hi All

I am starting some speaker builds and am perhaps in the minority here being relatively comfortable with all things woodwork, but I really don't know what I am doing when it comes to wiring. Even the basics on how to connect wires to drivers, and then of course there's crossover construction.

Can anyone point me to some good resource for learning? What are the best practises, the right tools for the job etc.

Many thanks

Soldering is best. Don't cheap out on the connectors on the back.
Five way binding posts will give the most flexible options.

If you must crimp the internal connectors, the proper tools are rather expensive.
Crossovers may be built very simply, or on a pcb, but parts must be secure in place.

Here's a starter, however the crossover design is an entirely different subject,
and is much more complex than just building it.

I used soldering, push tab connectors & ring connectors in my cross-over rebuild. All ring/push tab connectors were crimped & soldered (the wire was tinned a bit before being crimped). I used certain connectors to aid dismantling & reassembly. I also used bolts as terminal posts on the cross-over, & test/measurement plugs/sockets for the rear of the speaker.
