I would like to test what a modern class D amp can do. I would like to buy ready-made modules and plug in the recommended power supply. Can you recommend something worth buying? I am interested in a good hi-fi stereo, not a subwoofer driving 😉 It could be something Chinese if it plays good.
ICE Power - Modules, if you are able to get some. But be carefuls with some resellers - there seem to be reproductions in the market (not sure).
I completely forgot about this company. I remember them from 10 years ago, when there were very few such digital amplifiers. I watched the TDA7498E datasheet today. It doesn't look bad.ICE Power - Modules, if you are able to get some. But be carefuls with some resellers - there seem to be reproductions in the market (not sure).
I have been involved in production of anoth PDM based 1-bit digital audio AMP and we tested the quality of several Chips and boards like e.g. also Hypex and it is diffucult to overcome that. In one case there were also patents to be respected. Well finally we integrated an algorithm ourselves.
Regarding the chips - they usually come with lower output currents. Chips from a certain direction additionally come with highly overrated power announcments 🙂

Knowledge and experience in this industry are the most important. I don't particularly trust most designers. The TDA is doing good with the output power. Of course, you probably need a larger heat sink for long term loads and they announce power at 10% THD+N. This is nice review i saw today:
That is the point: 10% THD(N). Loud and Proud 🙂 And who knows how they measured it.
Well, I do not know THIS chip in particular but some of the former solutions with TDA X. I assume one can get someting around 1 .. 2% in using 1/3 of the MAX-Power and something around 0.5% when using 1/10. = 10 W.
I have a small module here announcing 3W which are fine when used at 1W 🙂

There are measurements made in video I have posted. It should be doing below 0,4% in most of the range. And they are low harmonics, good for the ear. There is a problem with the output filter, it must be well matched to the impedance of the speakers, otherwise THDs increase. It is not very universal output.
I recently bought a ti-3255 based amp board from classdaudio.com and I have been pleasantly surprised. It does not sound like any class d amp I have ever owned. It even works well with my Klipsch Heresy III's which can be difficult to match to the right amp. There are assembled amps on amazon for cheap and lots of sources for amp boards. The lsa warp 1 amp seems to be getting a lot of good comments. It is a little pricy though.
It can be orthodox being able to compensate with the Heresy 😉 It's looking good with these Coilcraft inductors. Can you switch to single ended input?I recently bought a ti-3255 based amp board from classdaudio.com and I have been pleasantly surprised. It does not sound like any class d amp I have ever owned. I have a NAD D 3045 which is 60W per channel. It is a 32bit computer with a custom Hypex module. It works well except for running hot when horizontal. I suspect that digital, being relatively new, is hard to design perfectly. If so, you might be better off to buy an integrated solution from a reliable manufacturer.
TI provides a lot of documentation about this TPA3255, plus Evaluation board manual which is interesting. Maybe I would make a PCB one day. A tempting option, too bad I don't have time yet.
In this case I'd suggest a TPA3255 based module by 3e. It's prize won't justify tinkering with a homebrew PCB. And supposedly it's a good sounding amp, too.
Best regards!

Thanks, it looks like a good value option. I saw similar ones on ebay, but this one has ES Muses feeding OP and description. It is N/A now. It seems that they have their stock empty. $150-200 with PS and power regulator. I wanted to buy some LLC power supply and make some aditional 5-10A voltage regulator by myself. I have no idea what PS to buy too.Budget?
This one https://store.sure-electronics.com/product/AA-AB32313 has a lot of followers.
His nickname is kremlin.
Also here a big thread.

I use one for my subwoofer with toroid linear supply.

From the outside it is moderately handsome 🙂

I saw these at the Hi-End show in Munich.
