I am seeing these for sale for 350 and have never heard of the brand, but I am wondering if they might be a good deal with four of them distributed in the room.
Any comments are welcome. I hate to spend money for a pig in a poke.

Looks to me like a low cost knockoff of the Mackie SWA1501
Mackie - SWA1501
I wouldn't use them if you're looking to use them in home. They're really for live sound reinforcement. Assuming it's probably very similar to the Mackie, it'll down 3db at 47 and 10db at 36. It's also a 6th order bandpass enclosure. They're calling the flared ports "horns".
I sold my SWA1801 because I hated the sound of it.

If you look at the specs it says -3dB at 30Hz so I wouldn't jump to saying its the same as some other brand with -3dB at 47Hz. 6th order slot loaded band pass boxes are not all the same and small adjustments in tuning and driver selection have a big effect. I would have to trust manufacturer if they state -3dB point.
Oh, I see it now. I didn't realize that window scrolled down to show more specs on that web page. I'm so used to manufacturers hiding specs. Could be a decent choice then.
You're right I was a bit lazy in assuming it's tuned the same. To be fair, it looks identical and the external dimensions are the same to the millimeter.
I wouldn't necessarily rule out the possibility that the box also uses a bit of built in eq in the amp to get down to -3db 30hz from 37 or something similar.

Mind you, a no-name brand doing knockoffs of Mackie... I'd never expect it to sound "better" than the Mackie, and that thing honks like an angry goose. Big peak around 50hz, one note bass...
I'm glad I asked... from the Rockville manual

IMO there's nothing about that diagram that suggests any sort of "folded horn" is involved in the design of the subwoofer, particularly at bass frequencies. If the description of its operation is suspect, then its advertised specifications are probably suspect as well.
Hi,
Unless your room is also a discoteque give them a a very wide berth.
There are far better domestique subwoofers.
rgds, sreten.

As the song says:
Don't go back to Rockville and waste another year.
Rockville quoted specification:
(from the linked web page)
"Maximum SPL @ 1w / 1m: 130dB Peak / 127dB Continuous"
Impressive, eh? 🙄

Looks exactly like the American Audio PXW 15P sold for 499€
These are all cheap china clones.
Has nothing to do with the original Mackie design using a good RCF Speaker.
The Mackie has a plate amp with very high efficiency , so no fans are needed, and it runs very cool all at full power all night long.
I never had the SWA1501 , but I used the plate Amp a few years for powering DIY dual-15 Subs.
Replaced it only because the class D plate amps have less weight.

The 1W/1M @ 130 dB peak and/or 127 dB Continuous rating is probably only possible by using the Constricted port design.
The arrows in the cross sectional drawing of the cabinet also strongly effect directivity.
Plus, setting the driver back into the cabinet about 1/3 of the cabinet depth gives the listener a great place to stick his head.
Looks like a whiner to me.
