Analog Discovery - Audio Analyzer Suite Video

Picked up one of these and did a video about it. Cool tool and while not perfect, does a lot for what it costs, especially with the frreeware. A nice tool to have in my toolkit!

I tried to find information of dynamic range or noise floor of the spectrum analyser part but didn't find any. Does anyone know?

I wouldn't expect this to be "Lab quality" and I read the signal generator has some THD around .1%, but for tube amps use, is a big step up from using a sound card 🙂

I believe it is a 16 bit device so theoretical max dynamic range is 96dB.

It's enough for frequency resulation Bode plots, but too low for accurate measuring.

OK, then it is not comparable to e.g. QA402 from Quant Asylum, (noise floor -114dbV)

BTW That Audio Analyzer Suite is a great app! I wish we had something like that which would run on a sound card.
Maybe we can persuade the author?
Its 'only' the interface part ;-)

Right, it's helpful to spot problems but not accurate for actual "lab" measurements of a DUT.
