I have found a lot of these mosfets.
Are they any good at all?
Any amp schematics with 2SK413/2SJ118?

Hi,
2sk413/2sj118 (140V/8A/100W) are similar to pair 2SJ162/2SK1058 (160V/7A/100W). They are very good and popular transistors (and not cheap). You can find more about amps with MOSFETS in book SLONE - The Audiophile's project sourcebook.
Regards
P.S. Also I have one schematic with 2SK414/2sj119 (similar to yours) from old RIM-Muenchen catalogue. I can send you, if you whish.(or place here, Moderators?)
Catalogue diagrams.
Hi Moamps,
If the information is out of a catalogue there should be no problems putting up the diagram here ,mentioning where it is from. I am sure lots of us would like to see the circuit.
Thanks.
Ashok.

Here are some Class A/A-B amplifier :

Recently somebody built Zenquito. There´s got to be a thread about it.
Cheers

Hi Moamps
For some reason I havnt seen your reply before now.
That amp from the RIM-catalogue looks very interesting. I have approx 20 of each of the MOS-fets, and the rest looks cheap.
Can you tell me anything else about the amp? Was it in production by any company? -and if so, when was it?
I'm told that the powerresistors in the output needs to be non-inductive or else the output-stage could oscillate..?

Hi TroelsM,
I think you should seriously concider this amplifier design by PMA. I know I would... 😉

Thanks for the reply
It seems to be very clever/new curcuits. i was looking for something more proven and reliable. The RIM-curcuit lokks "pro" and includes clip-led and overload-protection.

Bonjour Troels,
2SK413 / 2SJ118 are not same that 2SK1058 / 2SJ162 "Hitachi" ("Renesas" today). Transconductance curve is différent : Vgs off is greatest, thermal indifference is to 4A than 0.1A. But Ciss is so little, 2SK413 and 2SJ118 are suitable for high speed power switching. So you can't use 2SK1058 / 2SJ162 scheme without change.
2SK1058 and 2SJ162 are "lateral structure" ideal in linear audio amplifier class AB. Perfects equivalents parts (but in 8A than 7A) are :
- 2SK2220 / 2SJ351 "Renesas" http://cn.renesas.com
- BUZ900P / BUZ 905P "Magnatec" http://www.magnatec-uk.co.uk/
- EC-10N16 / EC-10P16 "Exicon" http://www.profusionplc.com/static/index.htm

2SK413/2SJ118 are pretty good for audio amplifiers, compared to IRFs they have lower capacitances and are more linear.
Regarding circuits mentioned in http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=710068#post710068
there seem to be no reliability problems. More than 20 channels have been built and operated.

Hi PMA,
K413 and J118 are certainely so good in audio amplifier. I visit your web page with interest and place it in my favorit.
I just point to Troels that scheme with K1058/J162 can't be use without change, in complement to Moamps's message.
Jean-Marc.

Jean,
you are right, I completely agree.
