Amplifier Type Suffixes for Japan

Levinson used a 'L' suffix behind their models so you got a ML-2L instead of the ML-2 and Threshold had a blue 'Custom Series' label with gold lettering for the Japanese market.
Does anybody know what was customized for that particular market?

Most likely the label, although some details might differ. Japanese
distributors occasionally requested a differentiated model name,
although I haven't seen it in the recent past.
Okay thanks, that's clear now.
So no internal differences like onboard AC filtering units.
I know Threshold, still with you onboard, had a different line-up in Germany at the beginning of the Nineties:
S/450 became a S/600 and SA/10e became a SA/11m.
I pressume when a particular foreign market has a big enough volume it can demand some minor alterations.
But that's all marketing and of little interest for a DIYaudio forum.
Thanks again.
