Well I'm looking for a used amp or monoblocks to run a current hungry speaker
The Thiel cs5
Drops down to 2 ohms at 40 hz

Aleph 0 loved that load.
Lacking that, you build a simple push-pull follower Fet with lots of outputs and
heat sinks and power supply and bias the crap out of it.

Os not so much. The charm of the 0 was that you could overlay the thd
vs power curves for 8, 4 or 2 ohms and get the same curve up to clipping.
It was developed around Thiel 3.6's.

U formed shortie plug , pushed in 1 & 3 holes in XLR
or decent quality XLR jack , with soldered bridge wire between pins 1 & 3
then RCA input will work

for my knowledge , Aleph 0 doesn't have that switch
I made a mistake in previous post , assuming that Aleph is having both RCA and XLR input connectors ; in fact , amp is having just XLRs , so all you need to feed it properly from unbalanced source is to make RCA-XLR interconnect , with XLR pins 1 and 3 joined/shorted

then check the switch : with switch closed , there must be short between XLR pins 1 & 3
open the amp , and check what's written on pcb - REV 1.?

Earlier units came with external RCA adaptors. Later on, switches.
Grounds #3 input just like ZM sez.

Aleph 1 (not 1.2) any better for Thiel 3.6? So hard to find.............. maybe only necessary if I intend to test the structural integrity of my home?
After living with these amps I have to say they are a perfect match to the
Thiel CS5i!!!
I've tried 5 amps on them so far ( not a looser in the bunch) and these
Are in a league of their own!!!!!
Out of all the amps played the Aleph 0 has absolute control over the woofers
This surprised me compared to the Eagle 2 one of the best bass amps I've ever heard. The Eagle has outstanding attack, The Aleph plays lower with liquidity and imaging bass notes wich I've only heard once at a close friends house.
The mids are what I expected clean and clear. Nothing sticks to the speakers. It just floats there . The highs are different then most solid state amps
No grain ,no etch ,but not rolled off either.
I really really like them :-D
