Anyone notice an issue here?

They can’t. It’s a tax write off to “promotional activities” to create buzz and have people listen to them to encourage sales at the actual sales price of $340 etc.

Seems to have worked. Funny how so many people who claimed to be “audiophiles” liked the sound of the speakers despite them measuring kind of rough in the mid range. Now their promotion has resulted in 100 or so glowing 4/5 star reviews and the price is then raised to a reasonable level. I can guarantee that if they had released it at $340, the number of 4/5 star reviews would not have been as many.

Plus, it seems for once, even Amir can overlook warts when the price is right! 🙂

Amazon does not "make" anything. They contract out where their analysis says there is excessive profit to be made. Some of it pretty good. ( Batteries in bulk) WBC are very good products. A lot of it is absolute junk. In the market of the above speakers, I suspect the aesthetics that make it look high-tech are a larger selling point than their sound. Right or wrong, only the market will tell. I am not betting against them.

Amir has a very restrictive set of tests, very tenuous for speakers as they are all so bad, it is more of a personal choice. Some of his site followers have extreme bias that is getting old. The objective electronic measures as posted are excellent and tell at least half the story. Unfortunately, attempting to discuss what measures cause our preferences gets on their high horse making any progress impossible.

Just checked, all three Tannoy tests on ASR were horrible reviews.
