Amateur in need of help - Firepod Mod

Alright, so all I've done as far as DIY audio is concerned is I've constructed a digital delay pedal. I have a presonus firepod that I've taken apart and studied, etc. But I'm new as far as knowing what to change to make any sort of difference in the sonic quality. Like what will changing the resistors out do? and what should I take into consideration when doing so? Same question goes for the capacitors.
I've looked around to see if anyone else has mod'd a firepod and talked about it online, but I couldn't find squat.
I have pictures I've taken of the PCB if that would help anyone.

You might be able to replace the electrolytics with something of higher quality (dependent on space available on the board, etc).

I wouldn't bother changing resistors for "better" ones - there are other improvements to make that will give a more noticably better performance. Probably.
