Alpine MRD-M501 Power Amplifier. It worked fine until one day the amplifier touched the trucks seat frame and sparked. It still powers up, and does not say there are any problems in the display. With my DMM I checked that I am getting proper voltage through the positive, rca's, but no voltage is shown out of the speaker terminals. I tried all the internal settings, and nothing changed. Any help on a repair? I have the necessary tools.
What touched to the seat frame (speaker terminal, power terminal, case of the amp...)?
If you power it up, do you have any DC voltage on the case of the amp (black probe on the chassis ground terminal of the amp)?
Have you confirmed that the amp has 11+v on the B+ and remote terminals (black probe on the chassis ground terminal of the amp)?
Do you have a scope?
Can you pull the cover and power it up to check the DC voltage at several points?
