oke i used bolts to put the 2 frames together from the audiostatic es200. the thing is i aligned the wires as good as i could and drilled the holes for the bolts.
but this means the pertinax frames are a bit off(they glued the wires a bit off i gues), they dont align perfectly, but now when i play low notes like 200 hetz and down, it sounds like there is noise coming from where the mylar meets the pertinax, as if its flapping against the frame where its taped down to the pertinax. is it beter to align the pertinax and disalign the wires a bit to get rid of the noise? or do we have a major problem with the electric field.
i can imagine the original did not have the problem because the mylar whas glued to both pertinax stators, so flapping into one whas not possible. but then again i cant open them if something is wrong with the coating or whatever.
