Aleph output protection diode

I need to repair my Aleph 5 and I've just discovered there's a glass diode on the output transistors PCB, connected neg. rail to gate. It's not shown on the schematic. Doesn't seem critical to the circuit (other than a sacrificial fail, I hope!), but wanted to replace with the same type.

Here it's shown pulled back. Suggestions?

it just can be protection zener, cathode to gate resistor, anode down (toward source/neg rail)

anything between 7V5 to 15V will do

Papa's fave (bought Ton) are 9V1

Yeah, thinking it is just a zener rated slightly under 20V (abs max of the MOSFET).
