Aleph 1000 ready for reality!

As I write this, I am ready to make the 1000w per channel aleph "real". 2kw/ch @ 4 ohms. I am only interested in projects that go above and beyond convention. I still wait for the "wizard" to write me back.. He always does.

In another coffee overdose, I saw where this can lead to, beyond what is conceived today. The technology in the future updates may trickle all the way down to cell phones etc... But for now I will just settle with the aleph 1000, plain and simple.

While my company "Nuclear Amplifier Research" will not call it an aleph, it will still have key switches on the power supplies, call them "pass keys". Yes gm would not be happy, they are only metaphorical. However the name pass would be in gold on the keys along with on the other side NAR.

Further advances in technology, have made it useful in homes now, not just special places. I have worked out the kinks very well. Applications are many. efficiency has been increased to like 80%. For a huge "SET", that's not bad...

Investors are waiting, even Magnepan is waiting. I'm waiting too, because I would need CCS, and a deal for 10 units, then I need 5 dealers, then stereophile. Then HISTORY! Worst case scenario, I need a "real" job, where my genius can be utilized.

Einstein was kinda smart, E=MC2 wasn't bad, but it does not apply anymore. It was all we were supposed to know. But you know scientists, they just don't quit... and they need to, they have entered a realm where they are not allowed to go.....

Someday the grasshopper would spread his wings and fly, tought by the "wizard" not only of audio, but compassion for others. To "give". And so NAR would continue that tradition, to pass along the info so you can make your own too, with guidance. The "next" generation...

My disclaimers will be simple. NAR is not responsible for "Anything", nothing that has happened to any amplifier in the history of the world, or the future. Including acts of god, death and destruction of homes or towns. Use at your own risk "sign here".

Hey, this would only be baby steps, the updates to it are mind blowing! And NAR is not going to stop there.... How about the 2kw "SET" vaccuum tube set? Seen one lately?

Dare to dream and dream to live,
Robert Perry

This is NO joke folks, it's the real deal. While the name Nuclear Amplifier Research is reserved, it is not a "company" yet, soon though. The avitar is of my new wife to be Janet, in a rough world I found a shining diamond. She has to sign all amps..

Well I will try to answer what I can, no it's not just "class A" It is SET class A. No AB never. The big boy aleph, but it won't be called that, maybe called chernobyl. The wizard says 150v rails will give me 1kw per channel at 8 ohms with something like 70 output devices per channel and 3kw idle power per channel, I asked about isotops? I want to make it simple, which I already did back in the coffee death throws. And then I did it again, and created something the world may have never dreampt of, which I can't discuss now. All I can say is that gears are turning. Cooling is no issue, Power is no problem. CCS is. Hey we put men on the moon with a simple handheld calculator, we are in the 21'st century now, almost anything is possible.

Why have I been gone? well a bunch of reasons, bad meds, mental issues, no Job, almost loosing my home, applying for disability because I have been proven a homicidal female by health professionals, seriously, I have the paperwork to prove it, well ok, it was my son, I guess i straightened him out by what i did..... My current wife did say that there is a fine line between genius and insanity, guess I fall somewhere in between. Can I do it, no doubt, but need the "wizard" too. And there is smoke signals in cali.

As far as the new wife, I'm just so glad that with all the bad stuff comes the best thing in the world, Janet. And she is real low maintenance.

So, yes i'm back, and yes there will also be a 1kw ch SET tube amp to come as well.

so, 120V 50A wall outlets are common? (one will need 50A pr monoblock to handle the start up surge. atleast)
how about that 6000W of heat? what kind of livingroom can handle that without turning in to a furnace?
wich output devices are you planing on using, that can handle +/-150V rails?

My house has a two phase supply for the clothes dryer and I believe it's common to have something similar for electric stoves. Most houses I know in Canada have two phases at the fuse box and they use both phases for different circuits. Using the two phase outlets gives 240V and with a 30A breaker you get 7.2kW available. In theory.

Don't put the amp in the living room. Put it in the laundry room and throw out your dryer. Your living room looks hot enough already 😀

Went looking down the 1kW~ SET tube monoblock route a few years back, can be done if you can get the tubes but who knows what it will sound like until someone does it. For a sub (which is what I was looking to build it for), you may get away with it.. for anything higher in frequency, who knows. Good luck. Love crazy builds 🙂

I want to make it. I always did. Understand several factors come into play here. One is the CCS. There may be a way around it but I need to read more as it may be patented. Or I would have to buy the rights for 10 units. If I was left with no option, that I could only make a prototype for "fun", then I would have no investors and would have to do it when funds are available. So, I am still waiting on a final verdict from the "Wizard".

Also understand, while this amp would be colossal, it really might pale in comparison to my other invention as far as making any money, or tons of it.

The aleph 1000, or "Chernobyl" was designed to fit into a standard rack mount chassis. So are each power supply. Yes, you can carry all 3 together. So I wait again for an answer.....

As far as power from the wall goes, I first off never ever heard of 2 phase. The aleph 1000 will use single phase 240v. I got 240 single phase @ 200A coming into my house, which most do, the 3 phase option would be available, that's easy. 2 Phase is for the canadians, I think I saw IKE use it in south park. So, NO canadian version. If you want that buy a generator, or get a million hamsters and a big wheel then watch gilligans island and learn from the "professor".

The all tube KW SET, would be 3 gain stages, with the final being a tube that has not been invented yet. I would not go down the route of having a whole lot of tubes just to complicate things further. Isotops for the aleph are what seems to me to be a marriage made in heaven.

Power and heat

These are good questions, as I explained cooling is no issue, there need not be any heat rise in the room, unless you want it, then efficiency climbs to 80%. There will be no 120v option, only 240 single phase 4 prong outlets (2 of them), or 3 phase 240. BTW, there is no startup surge, I eliminated that too 🙂 Isotops are a good choice I think for this application. The power supplies will dump about 12% of all power used from the wall into the air. The power supplies I have designed/designated, have 150v output each @ 22amps 6.6kw and there is some overcurrent built in so they can and will exceed that by about 10%.

and I wait...

The KW SET Tube amp

Went looking down the 1kW~ SET tube monoblock route a few years back, can be done if you can get the tubes but who knows what it will sound like until someone does it. It makes no sense to use such a devise for just a sub. You have class D and below for that, these are not critical frequencies. I do all of this for the planar lovers. I heard them and was really impressed, but they crave POWER, BIG CLEAN POWER to come to "life", and if you had the big super clean power then nirvana awaits. If I only made one prototype, I have no use for it, unless as part of a deal with magnepan, I let them use it for demos and they let me use it when they don't need it and give me a pair of their "monsters" just as a "thanks". I have already spoken in depth with Maggies #1 and they can't wait.....

You can always use passive crossovers with such an amp, but the solid state set would be better at handling the tough loads. So with passive crossovers you can drive the sub and everything else, the "swiss army knife"

The next thing I expect to hear is we need 13KW, still can be done on single phase but with 4 power supplies, in series/parallel. Power in any case for "Chernobyl" is NO ISSUE, nor is COOLING. This solid state wonder, will revolutionize the world, perceptions blurred with reality and music lives on in a way that might be even better than being there "live" There was a song written for just me, it is Evanescence "what you want", that sums it all up.

Thinking for a minute, my aleph 3 I built draws 200w, 30wpc @ 8 ohms and 60wpc @ 4 ohms, now lets scale it, just for fun. So I need 1000wpc @ 8 ohms and 2000wpc at 4 ohms, so we take the 1000 divided by 30, then multiply that number by 200. 33.33X200=The number of the "Beast". Nuff said. Slam dunk!

Stereophile did the original aleph 3 review. In the end (which has been deleted) they said it beat everything they could throw at it, the best of the best. I will never forget how that ended.... My boss won't be happy because we have to create a new class "A+"
WoW
I do this for Janet and I, we both had rough lives, but I did promise her better, which she deserves, and so do I. In the end we "Pass" along knowlege and continue the DIY legacy, and give to those less fortunate too....

as it is that smal and light, i guess it's SMPS PSU and watercooling?
but how do it only dump 12% of the heat into the room? i can only think of 1 way to do that from the top of my head. thats is constant flow of running water from the watertap and dump the heatet water in the drain. or is it some kind of dynamic bias?

It's called Genesys, a garden hose and a drain, LoL! Damn your smart! I cannot discuss my other invention as a part of changing the world of audio, and it has something to do with this amp, but the "Wizard" agrees it may be the future.... Of course you can make coffee, which just makes me crazy to invent stuff, or heat the house, or the hot tub. Need to weld aluminum? Just pick the right frequency, no need for a freq box. Need to thaw out the gutters of ice? Want a sauna? The things you can do to reclaim heat are almost endless, efficiency climbs through the roof. 4 Janet.
Ps: the 12% is heat losses of the PSU'S and some people just don't think outside the "Box", there is box I think about all the time........................
