I'm looking for a good version(s) of Afro Blue. I have a version of Coltrane live at Birdland, but he's on saprano, and it's tiring.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk did a fantastic medly of Afro Blue, Bessie's Blues, and Lush Life on the album "Volunteered Slavery." It was also on the reissue of "The Art of Rahsaan Roland Kirk."
It still gives me chills to listen to it.

Well, there's always the guy who wrote the song - Mongo Santamaria. Looking it up on Amazon, there's an album called "Afro Roots" that has the original version of Afro Blue.
