Hi,
I'm planning to put together a DIY Kit and wanted some advice on which kit to purchase from Madisound. I'm looking at anything from their 2-way kit range thats < $700 without cabinets.
I'm after speakers which would suit a 50W KT88/6550 tube amp i'm planning to build (got a help me! thread in the Tube forums) and that will suit my particular music types.
I mostly listen to female vocals, trance or some classical.
Thanks for all your help.
Regards,
Bismar

I would recommend also looking at some of the kits at Meniscus audio including the Mandolin and Kairos.

from madisound, rediscovery kit is supposed to be good.

Hi guys, thanks for your suggestions.
Are those recommendations based on the types of music i have chosen or are they just good in general?

A bit of both.
You essentially can't go wrong the Meniscus kits (designed by DIYers with serious skill - Paul Carmody, Jeff Bagby, Dennis Murphy, Curt Campbell, John K) so it really comes down to your SPL demands/room size/budget. I do have to disagree with doors666 though.
Madisound kits can be more hit-or-miss IMO.
Also consider Creative Sound Solutions' new Triton kit (not up on their website yet). As long as the tubes can drive it i would give it some serious consideration.

I think the Continuum would really work for you. An updated, imporved take on the classic LS3/5a.
