Hello, I have a modified AR EB101 turntable that sounds good but I have the common problem of the 12-stepped AC motor on the way out! It looks like I must go the DC route which is easier than fitting another AC motor but do not want to buy into the Origin Live setup.
I want something that quality-wise is going to fit into my system so I am looking at a Maxon 110945, for speed control a Motor Speed Controller PWM Regulator on eBay, and I already have a TeraDak 30W PSU Regulated Linear Power Supply DC24V. I am assuming the motor controller will work with the motor.
Any advice would be appreciated - Thanks

Hi, Motor looks OK, but you cannot use PWM (from what I have read) speed controllers for T/T's

Hello, thanks for the reply and endorsement of the Maxon motor. I have researched your comment that you cannot use PWM controllers for T/Ts. Some say you can but they are a bit 'lumpy' but may be OK with a belt drive, presumably, the give in the belt smooths out the lumps! Some claim a PWM output frequency of 30khz is needed for the motor to run smoothly, much is written about building your own but I have not been able to find one ready-made. However, I have found a better PWM that runs at 25Khz instead of 15Khz. Some claim difficulties with the OL controller, so at £30 it's worth a try, if it works I could buy 2, one set at 33.1/3rpm and the other at 45rpm with a selector switch. I might not get it spot on in terms of RPM but according to the WOW app, the current motor is a bit out anyway, and still sounds OK.
