I have a Sharp SX-9680 2 channel amplifier. This thing is inexpensive and pretty bare bones. But, I'd like to put in a gain control because it puts out a good bit of noise at the current setting and it's somewhat inconvenient to have an amp I can't adjust the volume. Anyway, it uses the STK4231 II, and I found the datasheet, which lists a circuit which I don't think is identical to what this uses. What would I have to modify and with what value/type of pots where? Also, I was looking at Rod Elliot's site about his "Better volume control," and was wondering if that was any use to me. I'd like to know what I'd need to make both independent gains and a stereo gain, because I'm not sure which I would do yet.

I can provide a picture of the actual board if needed, but if the datasheet provides enough information to figure it out, then great!
I could probably figure this out on my own, but figure I'll save a lot of trouble just asking the people who know how to do it. So, thanks for any help!
