I'm contemplating adding rear speakers in my living room.
I currently run open baffle speakers Bi-Amped in the front
with Two 15" woofers and one 5" full rance per side.
I was thinking of adding just two 5" full-range speakers, the same that the
front uses and also open baffle, on a separate amp for the rear channels.
Does anyone see any issues with this setup?
Thank you

Not as long as the drivers can match up peak SPL-wise down at/below the XO point/slope at low distortion and at ~the same polar response, i.e. if multiple rows of seats they will in theory be too far away, thus ideally needing waveguides [WG].
Since I use an electronic crossover (miniDSP) The rear speakers
will only be playing the same frequency range as the front.
I may use a second miniDSP for the delays etc for the Rears.

Is this for home cinema or music? For music I believe that would put things out of balance, using two stereo pairs require full range imo. For home cinema I see no problem as rear channels are over 80Hz anyway. Well three decades ago that was the case I have no idea anymore really what’s going on with all the new surround standards.
Yeah, in retrospect I should have asked, but being more cinema than music oriented..........: (
For stereo, things start getting complicated once away from the 'sweet spot', so ideally need a small one for ambiance using either digital effects or creating a diffuse rear sound-field.

My earliest [4.1] HTs were like this, but wasn't until I 'borrowed' a Sansui? Quadraphonic receiver did it sound 'right' [at the time], though better still when later switched to a proper rear channel stereo adjustable delay.
Regardless, good luck with it and please let us know how it turns out. 🙂

I have a spare miniDSP unit that I plan to use for adding in the proper delay.
Thanks all for the help.
