Welcome!!Hello thanks just Registered James
Did you look around and notice that this section is about new website troubles? Not speaker amplifier matching?
The Dahlquist asks 60W-200W. The SX1010 is well over 100 Watts. If it was 200W it would not play a lot louder. Have you just tried it?more power or adequate power
If you need LOUD, the Dahlquist may not be the ticket.
Just a question I am satisfied with their output also running Cerwin Vega RE30’s as my second set of speakers with a 100 watt passive subwoofer from the 1010 to the Dahlquist DQ-10’s for extra bass I am happy with it I have just been on other forums listening to a bunch of verbal diarrhea 😂 about not having enough power to drive them needing a 200-300 watt amp on top of what I have thanks for the response very much appreciated
I have an Adcom GFS-2 100 watt per channel amp which like you’re saying would not really add anything as far as output something like 3DB or something 3-4 watts I read not even noticeable 😂 thanks again much appreciated
That should work fine if you want to use it.
How will you control the volume? You may need one of these.

A roommate in college bought a system with them. They sound fantastic with 2 caveats. They are fairly inefficient and they present a complex load to the amp. He paired it with a apt which was good for 100w/ch. We tried other 100W amps and they sounded dry compared to the apt. So it may not be power you need as much as an amp that handles difficult loads. That combo was a memorably good sounding system. I was a tad jealous, but did not have those kind of bucks in college.
By all means give the Adcom a try, the Pioneer may have been the first "100w" reciever but it's still a reciever which means the amplifier section is probably not built as well as a dedicated power amplifier.

The 1010's a fine unit, born in the golden era when watts were real, not faked as today.
Do yourself a favor. One guy told me I need a $4000 Pioneer Spec 4 amplifier using my 1010 as a preamp craziness
Stop listening to those hoardes of know-it-alls with their biased opinions, they prey on the inexperienced ones.
So is the Adcom... Did you even look before demonstrating how much of a "know-it-all" you are.The 1010's a fine unit, born in the golden era when watts were real, not faked as today.
Listen, I've serviced and restored customers SX1010's and SX1250's (among others) in the shop for years. So is the Adcom... Did you even look before demonstrating how much of a "know-it-all" you are.
Excellent specs when serviced.
And yeah, I've done Adcom's too.
So I guess that makes me somewhat of a know-it-all.
