AD1 replacement !

How can I replace the tube AD1, which tube? is very close, Maybe a pair of lamps in parallel can be similar? Does anyone have information?
Maybe there is a diagram - how to replace? I read a very long time, someone used two lamps in parallel 4p1l +4p1l

2A3 has practically the same characteristics and power, if you can manage 2.5v heater ( also available from new production).
300B has been used, too, with 4v heater voltage instead of 5v it has similar characteristics (also new production).

That may have been me or Ale Moglia. We both used PSE 4P1L for a few years in filament bias. We both went on to other choices - me to 2a3 and Ale to 300b.

300b should be run at 5V filaments, AC or DC. I don't think 4V is a good idea. But I do agree with Sorrento about using a 2a3.

Is the goal to harvest the AD1 tube from the radio, but keep the radio operational, or is the AD1 defunct and needs to be replaced with an equivalent so you can still use the radio, without the massive expense?

I had a couple of 1930's Paillard radios and they used 2A3 outputs that were next to expired. I was looking at the 1619 tube, a metal pentode but directly heated with 2.5V, as a possible alternative. I was going to triode wire it, and saw that there were other people who had had success with that.
1619 tube data

Perhaps an AL1 could be adapted? I picked up a pair of them on the off chance quite cheaply.
