Hi All.
Just acquired an Acoustic Research AR XB1Turntable fitted with an ADC Q36 Cartridge.
My first turntable in 30 years.
Don't know much about this one and haven't had a chance to run it yet.
Hoping for technical assistance.
It's missing the transport bolt.
I'd say, pretty impossible to get NOS parts.
Can anyone help me with the thread size.
I'm looking to buy a stainless cap head bolt or something similar to do the job.
Cheers Cliff

It threads into aluminum. Best guess is 1/4-20 or 5/16-18. I've never seen anyone ship an AR with that bolt in place. They just get sent both platters off and foam between T-bar and top plate.
From memory it is 1/4-20Hoping for technical assistance.

I once had back in the early 80's the original AR turntable.
Didn't like it... plain, sub chassis too bouncy.
Hard to lay the needle to the record when you're a bit tipsy, the thing flopped all over the place.
Got a Dual 1229 and was tons happier.

Thanks to everyone for your replies.
The main reason for the transport bolt is to complete the unit.
I haven't decided whether to keep or sell this turntable and thought having a fixing bolt will aid safe transport.
I don't think it would be too healthy moving this thing frequently without the fixture.
