hi..i am modifiying my denon amp..there is elna tonerex input caps in it..i want to change them with film capacitors.i used arcatronics mcap capacitor.it sounds very good but i wanna try again.i have ero mkt1813,ero mkc1860 and arcatronics mcap capacitors..someone says ero mkc is very good..i dont know..which one is the best capacitor for audio inputs?..thanks 🙂
Hi,VISHAY MKP1837(+/-1%),VISHAY KP 1830(+/-1%) ranges are the most transparent and neutral I have tried.I am sure though there are others too.
Hi,try for AMPOHM FP-CA series of audio caps. This range will cover from 1uf up to 10uf (630V,+/-5%)🙂
They are hand wound, and have very low ESR and low inductance. They are axial shape and fairly large.😕

some say ero mkp and mkc is one of the best ones..i dont know..i cannot find ampohm capacitors?where can i buy them?
and also another question.there was 47uf elna tonerex cap for feedback.when i short circuit amp starts to give large dc to the output.can i use mks4 wima 68uf capacitor as a feedback capacitor instead of bipolar nichicon muse es?thanks
If the original ELNA was a polarized type,I think it is better to use a polarized one.Nichicon MUSE are very good caps, but use a polarized one just to be safe🙂
i am now using nippon chemicon bipolar cap 100uf 🙂 what will be the problem? does bipolar have pole ? 😀 it has a longer wire :S is it + pole ? thanks 🙂
The Wima MKS4 68u will work just fine I use a pair in my gainclone amp --- sounds clear as a bell, size may be a problem though measure 41.5mm long with over 35mm pitch but worth the effort fitting it.umut1001 said:and also another question.there was 47uf elna tonerex cap for feedback.when i short circuit amp starts to give large dc to the output.can i use mks4 wima 68uf capacitor as a feedback capacitor instead of bipolar nichicon muse es?thanks

the ERO KC1853 are good. Or the EROMAK FKE. Film/Foil types over metalized types are my preference. ERO KP1832, Wima MKP10.
i tried ero and mundorf..i liked mundorf rxp very much..is there any web site that i can buy online mundorf caps with cheap price?thx
i mean mcap series of mundorf..they are not expensive and good enough..well sound..i need 4 more..
Ampohms
FYI, Ampohm manufacture the following values in metallized polyprops at 630VDC in standard housing:
1.0uF
1.5uF
1.8uF
2.2uF
3.3uF
3.9uF
4.7uF
6.8uF
8.2uF
10.0uF
12.0uF
16.0uF
20.0uF
24.0uF
30.0uF
40.0uF (only in aluminium housing at present).
Hope this is useful - let me know if you need sizing or other data....

hi..i bought 0,5uf kp1832 capacitors today..price is cheap..its 0,5 dollars each..someone says they are better than mkp..what is the max capacitance of these caps? thanks
ampohm caps are expensive and the dissipation factor of ampohm(0,001) is not better than ero and mundorf...and i will use caps for feedback path of the amp..i dont need 630 volts of capacitors.they are so big and expensive.63volts 60uf or 100uf enough for me..
