A replacement volume knob for the PE DTA-1 t-amp

This is a hardware question.

I have a Parts Express DTA-1. The volume knob is stiff and has no
knurl surface to get hold of. I have to use a fingernail to turn it off on.

Regardless of cosmetics, can I remove that and can you suggest
a replacement? A replacement knob can be large and black (not huge).

I have seen that the LePai etc has addressed this on very small amps.

There is a local radio shack left here. Is that a possibility? I just don't know the shaft and all that. I'm having a problem getting a good search since I don't remember all the terms parts are called anymore.

Thanks.

I found this at RS:

https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-hexagonal-control-knob

Will see if the last surviving store here has it.

If I'm successful in removing the knob I hope I can see the shaft
properly. All that RS stuff is packaged and sealed.

Also I may have to update my profile. I did not see your reply as an email alert.

I have a new email address. Will see if I can change that or re-register
something new.

Ideally I'd like to find one on the curb. No good thrown out junk around here.

What I'd do is just disconnect it, remove the knob and take it over there. Going to RS just didn't occur to me after so long.

Sending for something seems like the long way around for this.

But I just had another idea: There's used record store with cds and old stereo gear (the kind you always wanted but couldn't afford). They might have a junk box.

I'll update if I find something.

And I fixed my email address.

A bit of news for anyone following this.

The shaft is standard d-shape on 1/4 inch rod near as I can tell. I removed the button switch and broke that in the process-- it didn't take much. If you know the product there's nothing to get hold of to back it off.

So the standard d-shape is something to go on. It looks like I could use
a knob from my electric stove. Not a good choice though.

Does Apex Jr have this sort of thing?
