An old joke, but it's stuck in my head.
10 feet away, a woman stands against a wall. Each "contestant" can walk towards her, but can only take a step that is half the previous one (if 10ft away, next step is 5ft, then 2.5ft, then 1.25ft......)
They ask if the mathematician can do it and he replies "yes, this is a well known infinite sum that tends towards the total distance. Let me show you the proof...."
They ask the physicist if he can do it and he replies "I agree with the mathematician, but it will take an infinite amount of time to get there "
Finally they ask the engineer, can he reach the girl? The engineer replies "not exactly, but I can get close enough for my purposes 😉"
