I have been thinking about building my next projector, and currently I am plaining on a 5" parts express and a delta lens. until I found this panel.

It seems to look good to me, my question is this: I still want a delta lens for its good optics. Are there any delta lens out there that are made for bigger projecters? like 8" or 9" crt projecters. Are there any model numbers out there to be on the lookout for?

seems like their website is down right now. Anyways, I ordered an MP3/VCD portable player from them (They are in Canada if I remember correctly) last year and it took three months before I got it.
it is a widescreen 7" lcd screen. It is 234x1440(480) and comes with remote and built in tuner for about $200.

that looks like a DAMN good deal...almost too good to be true...
so your building your "next" projector, what is your current set up?
do you plan to use your new lcd with an OHP, or are you using ZARK's setup? I have a 5" from partsexpress and i dont knwo what set up i should use...maybe you can give me some pointers😉 thanx.

People have posted links to those things before. I am by no means trying to shut anyone down, but the vertical resolution on that thing is a joke. If you can live with it, by all means go for it. Keep in mind that you have no idea what the contrast ratio or response time is. It may look great on a 7" screen, but probably not so good on a 70" screen.
well, the v resolution may not be to high, but it is the same as those parts express designs, and because it is 16x9 more of the resolution will be used when watching a dvd. Right now I am away at school and plaining my next project. I want to finish my current project which is based on a 1.8" lcd, slide projector optics and a small halogen bulb. For my next project I want to use a mh bulb with a medium sized lcd panel and a delta lens, along with some nice optics to focus the light down. I also want to play around my light scaning idea that i put forward in another post.
hmmm....according to what i've read, cable extensions are not guaranteed to work. i personally wouldnt risk it unless i had a job...lol but i may be wrong.
mikejz84, your set up seems pretty cool if only there were pics....😉 is the quality good,or are you satisfied with it? if it isnt too much trouble can you tell me what optics you are using? thanks.
Lifter, i agree with what u said. but every one has their own likings. i would like to have a high res projector but my budget wont allow it at this time. i was once using the 100 inch tv thing and i liked the projected image (the parts that i can see) if these lcds have higher res than normal tvs then im happy.if this projecor is succesful i can sell it and buy better equipment 😀 .

see http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9578 for a layout of how the lens works. Right now when I am home for spring break, I want to build first projector (the 1.8 inch lcd) that is based on the optics that were in the slide projector (see my projector sucks part II: the flee market) I have most of the parts, Just need to build a case to hold them in and work on a better lighting system. The optics the slide projector used to collect and focus the light were much better as opposed to a fresnel, the link a the top is me searching for a way to scale up these optics.
