I want to test a 83 tube in my Hickok but can't find it on the roll chart. Basically I don't know the heater switch settings and the shunt settings. I know it's a 5v tube and I press P3 and use "G" display for the meter.
Thanks,

The 83 is used in many valve testers. High voltage , high current and mercury vapour so only 15Volts drop at full load of almost an Amp!
They either work or they don't.

For Hickok 539B/C,
5v, ER-0300-0, Bias-0, Shunt-89, Press-P3, Range-G (note 3 & 6)
5v, ER-0200-0, Bias-0, Shunt-89, Press-P3, Range-G (note 3 & 6)
Note 3, Make emission test only. Good tubes will read above index mark "rectifiers & diodes OK" on meter.
Note 6, A short indication on position "A" of shorts switch is normal.

Thanks HollowState you are a lifesaver!!
I am gifting this tube to someone so I just want to make sure it works before mailing it off. I don't have any piece of gear to plug it in accept for the tube tester.
