I was thinking... at $8, the little 5.25" Goldwood speakers at Parts Express could be fun for use in a tower speaker like the Straight 8. With a phenolic horn tweeter, the overall sens. would be around 105dB for 8 of the woofers. I will go no less than 8, preferably no more. This gives me a nominal 8-ohm woofer impedence if I parallel/series them right.
My question is on the box... just doing a quick figure, I get something like 66"x6.25"x14" for inside diameters of the box. How can I model this? I don't know how to use the speaker program someone recommended... What do you think of this sized box? The peak would be a lot... is using two 4" flared ports too much for the little woofers?
Please help... I don't understand how I can figure up the box. Should it be ported or sealed? I need kind of low bass extension, though not really low. Otherwise, I wouldn't use 5.25" speakers. 😉 Help! Thanks all!!
