All the ones that I find are surface mount and I need a socket mount. Any sources would be appreciated. Thanks
Brown Dog makes the adapter I will use if I cannot find a DIP version of the chip. But would still prefer a 14 dip version. Thanks
It is the output buffer on an Audio-Gd Digital interface. It was suggested as being more detailed by the designer. Regards
It doesn't look like anyone makes them in PDIP anymore. Fairchild used too, not sure if any other manufacturers did.
Using a surface mount adapter is probably less of a headache than trying to track a PDIP version down. If you really want to try and find one though, search for a 74VHCU04N.

I am merely quoting the designer. RegardsIt's a digital hex inverter, how can it be more detailed?
Any idea where I can order just 1? thanksIt doesn't look like anyone makes them in PDIP anymore. Fairchild used too, not sure if any other manufacturers did.

Not anywhere convenient. Looks like either a parts broker which usually require a hefty minimum purchase, or I found some for sale through TaoBao (a Chinese online marketplace) but buying from there is a headache in itself. It's best if you know someone in China who can order them for you.
Thanks for the info. I will talk to the designer and see if he can obtain one for me. Kindest regards-I knew the board would come thru.
