I am trying to box my 6x9 what size of the box would perform a gd job?
also ported box or sealed box will generate more bass?

Surely it depends on the speaker. Infinity told me to use a sealed 0.3 cu ft box with their 6953i Reference series 6X9's.
To build a properly sized box for any driver one needs to know the TS (Thiele/Small) paramaters, namely Vas, Qts, and Fs
These paramaters vary widely from one driver to another, even in drivers of the same size like 2 different models of 6x9's
Unfortunately it is difficult to get the TS parameters for car speakers. I think MB Quart may publish some specs, not sure about that. But I did actually call a few companies' tech people to try to get some TS specs a while back when I wanted to make some boxes for 6x9's.
I called JBL and Polk and maybe one other one. I didn't get the actual TS specs I was seeking, but what I did learn from talking to the techies at these companies is that 6x9's are generally designed to be mounted on the rear deck and have the trunk space serve as their speaker box.
In other words, most 6x9's work best in a very large box i.e. something about the size of a trunk of a car.
I did some testing and verified this. I had some JBL GTO series 6x9's and I put one into a box roughly .03 cu ft. I then tested this combination using a RTA ( Real Time Analyser) and could clearly see, as well as hear, that the box was way too small because there was huge peak in the response: about 10-12 decibels around 125Hz.
So, for your situation, if you already have a pair of 6x9's you want to use it may be best to assume they need a large box. If you don't yet have the 6x9's it may be worthwhile to call Infinity (before investing a lot of time building boxes) and verify that the model mentioned above will work well in a .03 cu ft box, if so then that would be the way to go if you need to keep the boxes small.
BTW, the pre-made boxes sold in places like Wal-Mart are way too small acoustically for 6x9's (with the POSSIBLE exception of the Infinitys mentioned above).
Finally, on your question regarding closed vs vented boxes: for a given driver a properly designed closed box will be smaller than a properly designed vented box. However the vented box will be more efficient (louder). Lastly, the vented box will be more prone to response anomalies in the bass region. In other words, the sound quality would be better with a closed box and the box can be smaller, but the overall quantity of bass will be greater with the vented box.
hope this helps...
