There are 3 proven designs for bandpass enclosures on the Speakerplans Website

Speakerplans.com

The plans state that they can be licenced for commercial use

Thanks! I've been running through numerous possible TH alignments for a 12" driver I recently purchased, and it looks like I might get results more to my liking (size vs. performance) if I go with a "simple" 6th order BP alignment instead . I'm looking for some layout ideas to accomodate the alignment I've come up with - those links should come in handy.

Kind of a tight fit, but theoretically 0,-3dB from 50 Hz to 150 Hz, 98dB SPL, and a box under 4 cu.ft.... tempting! I might build both this and the larger TH to see which one sounds better...

You can't play bass with just a bandpass sub.
Talking two boxen here and a crossover. N'less
yer higher tuned port hole, or slot is centrally
located and phased to double as the indirect
radiator for midbass.

Karlson K15 is the enclosure you want...

Trace Elliot BX-80 was also slotted indirect
radiator similar to drawing post above...

ofcourse not 🙂

while you posted I drew another one, implementing the front driver

personally I think its a daft idea 😛

anyway, the idea was to use a smaller woofer, and still get SPL, and control

and front driver not playing low bass could be chosen for much better upper range, and thus have strong motor with very low Qts

Im not sure it needs much xo, if any at all ?

Hey, maybe a 12" coax as front driver
Theres a new Beyma with 2" tweeter
Seems like a tough driver with good xmax, and low Qts

That way this design might be used for just about anything

not sure if thsi was commercial, and don't like to view Karlson as "bandpass", but for two drivers one could try Humphrey's isobaric Karlson-coupler (with no reference to Karlson) - it could be a vented variant - not sure what to do with "wasted" space - maybe just a central leg for support - a regular Karlson would be good in mid and high quality

Speaker system which inverts and ... - Google Patent Search

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

clever guys, those old pioneers of audio 🙄

anyway, next devellopment

Eminence Delta pro-12A, and Kappa pro-12A
Delta in top "waveguide", and Kappa in bottom 6.order bandpass

Delta in small closed box rolls off around 105hz(-3db)
Kappa, around 40-100hz bandpass
It will do 115db with 120 watt

Could look like "over-ingeneering"
but woofers are "affordable"
Its just more work 😛
